The original Brutus Trimfit shirt relaunched a few years back, re-invigorated by a new generation. The family-run brand, founded in 1966, began with a single sweated before becoming a household name for t-shirts, shirts, knitwear and denim. Brutus soon became know for their adverts, with names such as Saatchi and David Bailey being among the creatives working on the innovative campaigns.

Brutus Trimfit had a cult following throughout the sixties and mid-seventies amongst mods and skinheads across the world which has been largely documented in articles and books on British streetculture fashion. During this time, the iconic shirt sold millions.

Now run by the original owner's son, Jonathon, Brutus shirts are still manufactured and constructed in exactly the same way, staying true to the original Trimfit. To coincide with the re-launch, Dr Marten have teamed up with Brutus to create two limited edition shirts for their Spirt of '69 collection. The shirts are available in a Oxblood check (pictured below) and yellow.
It's great to be able to own and wear an iconic piece of British fashion history.

Brutus Trimfit's are available online, with two special edition shirts (£60) available nationwide and online on Dr Marten.
